Quantitative Monitoring of underwater environment

Since a few years an increasing interest is carried on the judicious exploitation of marine and submarine resources. This topic involves the measure of the evolution in time of the human activities impact on marine environment. The objective of this workshop is to present, by addressing simultaneously scientific and technological aspects, the last methodological and technological advances in terms of sensors (acoustic, optical, seismic, radar,...), infrastructures (autonomous or tele - operated platforms, sensors networks, communication) and information processing for a quantitative monitoring of the underwater environment.

In this workshop, three structured sessions will be held on the following topics:

  • Autonomous navigation based on underwater seamarks.

  • Acoustic monitoring  of algaefields and of underwater meadows.

  • Geographical information systems applied to underwater domain.
